Do a quick search and you will see studies that prove an ORS is just as effective for mild to moderated dehydration as getting intravenous (IV) fluids. The lancet deemed oral rehydration solutions to be one of the greatest medical advances of the 20th century behind only antibiotics, but still for some reason the general public know nothing about it. If you are dehydrated or get sick an ORS is the best thing for you if you can choke it down. There are a few products out there that taste great but the majority of ORS’ are known for their bad taste.
