An apparent oil overflow during a routine oil change caused one man’s 2001 Impala to catch fire and completely torch his entire engine. The guys at the station claim it was a factory defect.
I know nothing about engines, and one Youtuber claims the video is of a back-fire through a thottle-body type injection system. They likely got the spark plug wires in the wrong order.A spark plug fired while the intake valve was open which allowed the gasoline being sprayed by the throttle-body to be ignited.
Whatever caused the Impala to go boom, kudos must be given to whoever thought to add the “Blaze of Glory” music for Young Guns 2 to it.
